are Lifesavers

Volunteers are Lifesavers provides recognition and appreciation to Northland Coalition and Community 2000 Team members and volunteers.  Surveys were administered during the Volunteer Breakfast to gather feedback on volunteer training, recruitment strategies and the Tri-County staff.  A survey was also administered to attendees of the Substance Abuse Prevention Conference to measure workshop effectiveness and the knowledge, skills and attitudes gained by the participants

Results
Summary of Findings: Volunteer Survey

  • Almost half of the volunteers have worked with the Northland Coalition for 5 years or more.
  • Nine out of ten volunteers find volunteer work interesting, challenging and rewarding.
  • More than eight out of ten (83%) agreed that volunteers receive sufficient orientation.
  • 93% of respondents reported that the Northland Coalition prevention programs have a positive impact on community members.

The survey results indicate that Northland Coalition and Community 2000 volunteers are pleased with the program and Tri-County MHS prevention staff.  Volunteers find their work interesting and felt recognized and appreciated for their efforts.

Summary of Findings: Workshop Survey

  • Ninety percent of all workshop attendees agreed or strongly agreed that their presenter was an effective facilitator.
  • A majority of all workshop attendees increased their knowledge of the workshop topic.
  • A majority of attendees agreed that workshop materials were useful.

The survey results indicate that workshop attendees benefited from the programs.  Overall, workshop attendees felt that the workshops met their needs and provided information they will be able to use in the community.  Workshop presenters were seen as effective facilitators presenting useful information.
