Pirates Rock

Pirates ROCK (formally People for Kids) group was originally organized to serve as the After Prom committee for the Platte County R-3 School District.  In 1993, the group became an official Community 2000 team. 

Pirates ROCK pride itself on the accomplishments of the past and its goals for the future. Over the years, the team has been able to develop and implement community based prevention programs that coordinates multiple strategies and engages the entire population of the Platte County R-3 School District.          

Major Programs Include:

  • AFTERHOURS
  • Character Education Program
  • Community Educational and Awareness Programs
    • Bridging the Generations
    • Kindness is Contagious – Bullying Prevention
    • Parenting with Love and Logic
  • Jim Debera “Change their Lives High School Youth Council”
  • Social Norming Campaigns

Possession by Minor & Permitting Possession by Minor

No person under the age of twenty-one {21} years shall have in his possession, either on his person or in a vehicle in which he is riding or sitting, any alcoholic beverages, except when such minor shall be accompanied by a parent or lawful guardian.  It shall be unlawful for any person to permit a person under the age of twenty-one {21} years to possess any alcoholic beverages while on property possessed by that person. {ord#1146, 01-25-2000}

Acquisition for Minors

It shall be unlawful for any person to purchase or in any way obtain alcoholic beverages for any person under the age of twenty-on {21} years.  In addition, it shall be unlawful for any person to obtain, convey, make available or deposit alcoholic beverages in any place where such person knows, or by the exercise of reasonable care should know, that a person or persons under the age of twenty-one {21} years are likely to come into possession of the same.
