Ray County Teens and Parents Accept "Rachel's Challenge"

Rachels sign

Everyone remembers the tragic day that stunned the world on April 20th, 1999 at Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado.  Rachel Joy Scott was a remarkable young lady who believed her life would have an impact on the world.  Little did Rachel know that the program her father created to make people aware of his daughter's life goals would touch over five million people around the world.

As Ray County residents heard the powerful video/audio footage of Rachel's life and the Columbine tragedy, it motivated those in attendance to make positive changes in the way they treat others.

Rachel's "Challenge" encourages students to look for the best in others and to eliminate prejudice; carefully choose your influences because they form character; keep a diary of journal and write down your goals; let your words and actions encourage, not destroy; and communicate your love to the people close to you, you just may start a chain reaction.

By signing the 10 foot by 3 foot banner, students, teachers and community members Accept Rachel's Challenge.

Mission Statement

Through capacity building and collaboration, the Ray County
Coalition will develop unified
strategies that will decrease
